The Perez familia’s love for serving coffee started with Don Pepe in the sugarcane fields of Puerto Padre Cuba nearly 90 years ago. That legacy continues four generations later with premium high-altitude coffee, artisan roasted right here in the United States. Rene Perez (second generation) immigrated to the U.S. via New York City in the 1950’s. He arrived with just his luggage but with the fervent desire to pursue the American Dream by honing his love for culinary artistry. What better place than New York City! He eventually built a Family and moved to Orlando, Florida where he opened his first diner. That tradition was carried on by his son Ruben Perez.
Ruben grew up working in his dad's diner and during that time developed his love for hospitality and passion for extraordinary coffee. He continued the Family tradition in 2009 by opening Zaza Coffee in the Orlando International Airport. Zaza quickly became a beloved spot for delicious food and award-winning coffee. Today, Zaza has nine dining locations and an artisan roasting facility run by Don Pepe's great grandson, Ruben Enrique.
